We would like to give a warm welcome to our visiting Chinese teacher Zhang Haiyan "Rose". She will be with us from the August through January. We currently have three families to host Rose for a month and are looking for two additional host homes. If you are interested, please contact Jonathan or Eleni at jfreeman@newton.k12.vt.us or ehowe@newton.k12.vt.us.

If you have any special functions that you would like to invite Rose to, please contact the school.

 


Homeroom assignments are as follows:

Mrs. Harris: 5th grade
Ms. Kanoff: 6th grade
Mr. Diamond: 7th grade
Mrs. White: 8th grade

 

BUS ROUTES

  • Each route is outlined below (morning trip)
  • Routes, stops & times are very similar to last year.
  • If you are new to school, please confirm pick-up time with Eleni.
  • Times may vary the first few days of school, especially in the P.M., until routes “settle down”
  • Please see further information on bus service in the Handbook.

 Route 1/ Strafford 1 Bus:
Rt. 132 & Cross Rd., to Brook Rd., S. to turnaround at Crossroad, N. to Upper Village, W. on Morrill Hwy. to turnaround @ Linehan/Spaneas, back on Morrill Hwy., left on Old City Falls Rd. to turnaround at Van Dyke Rd., back down to Morrill Hwy and to school.

    NOTE: afternoon trip will go in the same direction as the morning trip this year.

 Route 2 Strafford 2 Bus:
Sawney Bean Rd. @ Doyles to Miller Pond Rd., S. on Miller Pond Rd. to Rt. 132, W. on Rt. 132, left on Tyson Rd., left on Mine Rd. to new turnaround near Essex home, back down Mine Rd., to Rt. 132, left on Downer Forest Rd, to turnaround at end ,(back to Rt. 132 and to school.
